If you are debating on where to stay downtown near the cruise terminal, let me make this decision easier for you. In the past, I have stayed at other top brand name hotels around the world, but I chose the InterContinental this time because it looked cool from other people's pictures; the rate was great for what you get; and I really wanted a view of the cruise ships from my room. At check-in, things got even better with an upgrade and the truly genuine care and friendliest of the assistant manager Moira. For the first time in a really long time, my request for a room on a high floor with the view that I wanted was not only met but exceeded. I totally recommend getting a suite, not because I really needed a larger room, but the amenities make it a great value. I didn't take advantage of the spa/pool but after a long flight, it was so nice to have access to the Club lounge, which had a happy hour for a couple of hours. I was blown away by the top shelf liquors, wine and bubbly selection, and the amount of food. I would have been fine with this being my dinner, but I wanted to try out their restaurant ToroToro in the lobby. ToroToro has a very comfortable dark ambience which I prefer and the service and food, even though we just had several appetizers and sides, exceeded my expectations. Having the Club lounge for breakfast the next morning makes staying here a really good deal as this was not just a continental breakfast but a full selection of hot and cold items, pastries, and ice cold juice. And getting to the hotel from the airport and to the cruise terminal the next day was a breeze. Uber was already at the hotel when I requested one. I would definitely stay here again.
